Re: Clean Teeth
Deer antlers have kept my dog's teeth super-white. If he loses interest, I soak them in boiled chicken/beef stock.

i should try that.thnx
Re: Clean Teeth
you should try greenies, they work wonders. a little pricey, but well worth it. otherwise, you can try a petrodex dog toothpaste. we use those at work in my grooming salon. it doesnt need to be scrubbed on the teeth, just rub it on, and it breaks down the plaque. a tube of that is pretty inexpensive

Re: Clean Teeth
When my lab was about 6 months old he had to have a brace on to correct his lower canines position. He has an undershot jaw, and his canines were in danger of penetrating the palate. He had the brace to shift the canines out. I had to keep his mouth very clean and had to brush his teeth and use a mouthwash. It still got a little whiffy by the time it came to removing the brace, but his dentist commented that his mouth was very clean considering, and he hadnt ulcerated under the plate, which alot of dogs do. I just used a generic dog toothpaste that she gave me, and a double ended toothbrush. I cant remember the name of the mouthwash, but again, it was one that came from the dentist. I can find out if you would like to know.

I tried that... once.. I thought that was the end of my finger. Ari would never bite my hand, but I guess that rubber brush on the finger felt like a chew toy to him. Good lord, was that painful!Herman's Human wrote:. i'm trying toothpaste with a little rubber brush that fits on a finger.
I try using a real brush with a handle.. Or just finger sometimes. I only have 10 fingers, better safe then sorry
