Dog needs a job?

OK just got back from a walk with both my dogs and I was talking with another GSD owner and he asked what job do I give Sherlock. I told him he brings me the mail still intact. He has several puzzle toys , I also set up a scent trail in the garden for him and then just lots of play. He said so he dose not have a job as all GSD need a job like search and rescue or PAT dog or working triels ect.

Is he right that all GSD need a job. I thought lots of physical and mental exercise was what he needed?

You are right. Dogs need pleasant and stimulating occupation. Different dogs like different things to do. They don't need careers.
