Puppy Treats

Post by tracspe »

Hi

I've had my GSD x Lab 2 weeks (shes about 11/12 weeks old) now and she had a poorly tummy for the first week so we weren't allowed to give her any treats while she was on medication.

I managed to buy some "puppy friendly" treats from the pet shop which she loves and will pretty much do as you ask for them.

I was just wondering what is an acceptable form of meat treat to give her. She's obviously been on medicated food and we've been restricted with what we can give her, but I'm now keen to start giving her liver and chicken treats.

Should I give her it raw? Should I cook it? I'm a first time dog owner and she's obviously still only a "baby" so i don't want to give her anything that's too rich or that she shouldn't be having at a young age.

Forgive my ignorance. Any advice would be gratefully received.

Thank you.

Hi there,

I've only just joined so I hope you're still around!

Chicken cooked in a little olive oil, or grilled, should be ok for treats. Ensure it is cooked properly though.

I hope your dog is well!
