Paws - between the pads infected?

Ansa's paws are bothering her. The space between the pads seems to be the issue. Now I would go to the vets, but I don't know if they could tell me anything more than to wash them more often or less often or put lotion or whatever, which hopefully someone here can tell me.

Now I think the red brown fur color is caused by the issue. The pores are not really bleeding but just look annoyed.

She might have been licking front her paws more in the last month but I didn't think much of it. Now yesterday she clearly limped when we went for a run (walked back home immediately). But now she doesn't. But of course licks them from time to time.
Yesterday she did dig on our longer walk so maybe that made it worse but really it has been going on for a while.

It is fall so it is wet. I think she likes her paws to be showered when we come back in and we pretty much do it every time. Just with water to wash away any sand.

What could it be?
Worth a vet visit? (She would let the vet look at them and it is not about the money.)
Should I clean the paws better or maybe it is dryness caused by the cleaning?
I'm thinking about putting on lotion (non-scented safe for dogs) but she likes licking it off my hands too so her paws even more. I possibly have a cone somewhere, but would not like to put it on her. I could of course watch her for like 30 min after putting some on, but I don't know if lotion would help.

Could be so many things, from mites to something on the paths. You could try aloe vera gel, or my favourite standby of lavender oil. If you go for lavender, drop 10 drops into a tiny amount of water, pick up on a soft cloth and wipe between the toes. It won't matter if she licks them.

if you wash paws after each walk, she is spending a lot of time with damp paws. Can you do less of this?

I did think about the damp paws issue and have been trying to dry them better for a few days. It has been so wet outside that a quick wash doesn't really make them more wet.

I'll see if I can get any lavender oil from somewhere. I guess putting some of the lotion I have can't hurt for now.
