Food for Yorkies
Can anybody recommend the best and most balanced diet for a Yorkshire Terrier (age 1y6m).
Yorkie diet
Yorkshire Terriers are quite fussy eaters, but they don't need a lot of food because their stomachs are very small (1/2 the size of a satsuma orange). As your your dog approaches adulthood, I'd personally recommend an organic, wheat-free diet, along with high-quality meat. Therefore, in my opinion, the best food for him/her would be James Wellbeloved (lamb/rice) and Nature Diet wetfood (http://www.naturediet.net/index.html).
Mix the wet with the dry. To entice your dog to eat it, you can warm it a bit in a microwave (making sure there are no hotspots).
With any new diet, change it slowly from your dog's old diet over a period of 10 days, and always check your dog's stool to monitor how he deals with the change.
Hope that helps!
