Suggest an exercise plan

Post by troop »

What would be a general decent amount of work/exercise for a springer spaniel?

Ok i have more time now basically my OH is thinking of getting a springer but the one we are thinking on is a 7month ***** with zero obedience training and has been in a kennel for a long time. She has apparently got a very short attention span and the people that took her on train rescue/search dogs and havent trained her because of this apparent flaw. She has not been mixed with dogs either so any advice on taking on a dog like this gratefully recieved x thank you

You'll get more responses if you can post this in the dog training advice section :)

From what you've said i can tell you that this dog will most likely require lots of work. Springer spaniels are high energy dogs and if she hasn't been socialised you could have a big task on your hands.

So a lot will depend on how much time you have everyday to work with this dog as well as how much experience you have working through a dogs issues.

Thanks wufwuf i reposted above. I have experience of unwanted difficult dogs but not springers. Generally im at home a lot but my health is not fab so i would be dealing with the mental stimulation more than the physical side.
