Animal Behavior College

Post by Pol »

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone here has attended the Animal Behavior College or knows someone that has?

I'm interested in their Dog Training Course and obviously all things sound good on their website but when I google them I find some negative comments and 'scam' complaints etc..
It could be sour grapes, one doesn't know or it could be true...these things are hard to tell.

So I just wanted to ask around the forum for anyone's experiences...

Thanks,
Pol :)

It depends on what you want to do, I prefer somewhere were you can get hands on experience and train dogs, I know several who went or are going to Bishop Burton College, I have watched them develop their knowledge and gain hands on experience. Unless it has changed the Animal Behaviour College doesn't offer hands on, it is all study and writing. I do know one of the tutors and she is very good.

I had checked with them also, Mattie is right, its all writing and study. Victoria knows of them, She likes them from my understanding. I am getting hands on right now working with a place here, where I live. After I get the hands on and I am sure this is what I want, I'll take the classes. Started a dog walking service too like Victoria did to pay for the school. Kind of doing it like Victoria did it. There was one of the girls here that did go to ABC, she told Victoria in one of the Live Chats,,,look under Killer Intincts it on the 2nd page Victoria's post back to her is on the same page. The members name is steph0722 You can send her a PM if you want to talk to her. You'll learn alot here at this site to. Hope this helped you.
I wished I was the person my dogs thinks I am.

I have heard that the results vary depending on who your instructor/mentor is. I considered many dog training schools but ultimately chose the Karen Pryor Academy. Jean Donaldson has/had an intense program run out of the San Francisco SPCA but it would have been very expensive (you have to stay in San Francisco for 6+ weeks and are basically at school or at work 7 days a week!)
