bad breath on my chi

Post by chifan_32 »

I have noticed bad breath, on my chi everytime she comes up on the couch to greet me . I have tried giving her a couple of things that vet gave me for bad breath for her , but hasn't helped . The dingos really don't help , are there any suggestions to what i give her to help her breath issue better !

Bad breath in dogs usually means they have bad teeth or gums, did your vet check them? Have a look yourself and see how much tartar is on the teeth, they may need cleaning, once clean the bad breath should go.

I second the dental exam advice. Following that, try to brush her teeth regularly (if she'll let you) with a dog toothpaste containing chlorophyll, it helps with bad breath. Try to start brushing gradually with lots of praise. You can also add a breath-freshening liquid to her water every day.
