Cyril

Post by Mattie »

I am so proud of this little boy, it will be 9 weeks on Sunday when I picked him up and for the first 3 weeks he wasn't strong enough to go for walks, now he is racing round the field with one of my other dogs, but that is not why I am posting.

Considering the state he was in when I got him I expected him to be food aggressive but he wasn't, he would just dive in and eat. I have been working on "Sit" and "Wait" amongst other things especially at feed time. I have never expected him to wait, just to hear the word. Last night I told him to sit and wait, walked past him to the other end of the room, put his dish down and told him he could have it, HE DIDN'T MOVE UNTIL HE WAS TOLD TO. Image

Today I had him on the field with Bonnie when a man with a lovely Red Setter came on, I didn't see them as I had my back to the gate. Both dogs made a dash towards them, I called, only once, they both came running back with Cyril in front. Image

I don't know how to train dogs.Image

well if you need some tips, I know this really great forum that has this lady who takes on dogs with some pretty heavy issues. example the last dog she helped was a biter and was close to having a one way trip to the vet. she turned the dog around..maybe she could help you

Sorry, couldn't resist

great work mattie. it was nice story to start the day off with.

Way to go Mattie! and Cyril!
Grammy to Sky and Sirius, who came to live with me, stole my heart, and changed my life forever as I took over their care and learned how to be a dog owner.

I have you all beaten to the wine; I hit the wine cellar at night so that I can find something to put me asleep. No luck because it didn't work! :(

Mattie, who says you don't know how to train dogs? You're a FABULOUS dog trainer! :D
