My new addition, Dolly Mixture, she is supposed to be a year old and is only tiny, looks like a Spaniel/Dachshund, she jumped the baby gate to get to my dogs and jumped into the sink to get a drink of water, she was so thirsty I had to ration the water for a while.
This is her pound picture and the one I fell in love with.
Taken since I got home, sorry they are not very good.

Re: Meet
Don't know a lot about her yet Em, she served her 7 days and was rehomed by the pound to an old lady, she was retuned last Friday because when the old lady locked her away when she went out she trashed everything. She will be crated here so it won't be a problem.
She is very sweet, no signs of aggression and was very nervous of my 3 when she managed to jump the gate, not surprising really they wants to sniff her, 3 much bigger dogs must have been very frightening to her. She barked in the car all the time until I told her to shut up, she never made a sound after that She does need a lot of training but seems to be a quick learner.
I wanted an older boy and got a young girl. She is fitting in really well at the moment.

Mattie,
She is so cute! She has a lovely face, and those eyes just shine with intelligence.
She also seems to have an amazing amount of spring in those short little legs if
she can jump gates and into the sink. That might make life interesting in many
ways. Please keep sharing with us as she further introduces herself

Oh yes, I do love that sweet spaniel face-- reminds me of Annie in that regard-- congratulations on your new "little girl." I was wondering if you would be taking in a new dog anytime soon.

Re: Meet
Ellie can't do the amount of exercise that the other 2 need and she won't be left at home on her own so I had a choice, rehome Ellie or get another dog. I was going for an old dog but then thought I could be in the same position in a year or even less so went for Dolly. When the time comes for Ellie to go to the Bridge, Dolly will still be young and fit enough to keep up with the other 2 especially as I will be leaving them with Ellie in rotation, they will have an Ellie walk instead. It won't do them any harm.Fundog wrote:I was wondering if you would be taking in a new dog anytime soon.

Re: Meet
I had forgotten what it is like to have a Spaniel cross, she is lively Dolly has settled well, she slept on my bed last night and was a really good girl, she has had no training, doesn't even know what sit is but is learning. Took her to the vet yesterday to be vaccinated and chipped, she has all her adult teeth but vet doubts she has had a season, whether she has or not I am waiting until she does have one before having her spayed.
I went outside yesterday afternoon, the dogs tea was soaking on the windowledge, I looked at the kitchen window and Dolly was standing on the draining board just about to tuck into the teas. For a little dog she can really jump.
Vet weighed her, she is 7Kg, 16in chest and 9in neck, Gracie's coats are too big for her.

Not a day goes by without me discovering Errol up on some item I had previously never considered a place i might find a dog! (I caught him stealing the toilet roll today, by standing ON the cistern!)
