Re: Cookies

I was impressed at the response Clare :D , as you haven't tried it yet you could do an experiment and hide a little bit of it somewhere to see if the chis go looking for the lovely smell :D I reckon you could play some Oh yay :D Zoe says her pooches go mental for it, once I've used a few more of my...

Re: Scruffy vs Smart

I'm with the scruffy look, for me and for dogs  But what happens if you don't strip him, does it get really out of control and uncomfortable for him?

Re: What are you and your dogs up to today? Part 2

The cat decided to turn the tables on the vet and get a sample of her blood.      Everything is completely back to normal here and Ted and Ella are both very pleased to be back to being able to play together. The time separated hasn't refined Ella's playing technique...

Re: The ladydog and being on heat

It'll be useful info for others :) Yes........... but it's worth noting that Ella did not follow the book on her fertile days. She'd certainly be a late breeder. 'prime' days vary by b*tch and I'd not want someone else to think day 11 was "safe" as it may not be for their girl...... gwd, ...

Re: What are you and your dogs up to today? Part 2

Believe it or not, this was the best scenario.   She's such a busybody :D Ella got to come on our walk this morning and was fine, and they got to play chase without Ted feeling any need to try to hump her :D So now she's only being crated when I step out of the room which I'm sure s...

Re: What are you and your dogs up to today? Part 2

but just worth remembering that it is not just boy dogs that are interested in a b*tch in season sometimes! And I now get how frustrating it can be for owners of entire males whose recall goes out of the window when they scent a girl. I've not let Ella meet any new dogs (and no males) through her s...

Re: What are you and your dogs up to today? Part 2

Sweetie is SUCH a character, I feel like I know her  Well poor Ella, having almost come out of her fertile period is now poorly, diarrhoea, vomiting, to the point that we zipped off to the vet this morning to be on the safe side. She seems a bit brighter now so I'm hoping we're through the wors...

Re: Eaten Plastic

Well I may as well fess up and see if that helps you at all. Years ago I was at my friends, Candy and Graham, in Tenerife and we had a BBQ on their roof garden. We had been drinking and (I blame Candy for being irresponsible and leaving us to the BBQing knowing how useless we are) Graham and I made ...

Re: What are you and your dogs up to today? Part 2

I've been diligently updating the Lady Dog and Being on Heat thread ( https://positively.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=10933&start=90 ), mostly so I have a "diary" to look back at, but also incase it helps someone else. This morning I was back to being able to walk Ted off lead wit...

Re: Vent!

Mine both wore coats through the winter as puppies and both have coats incase they're ill. But Ted needs it to drop below about minus 5 before he needs a coat provided he's moving around. We'll see with Ella but she's double coated too so I suspect it will be similar. I always find it quite remarkab...
