You do know that people will pay for agility pictures of their dogs? Might be a good side business. 8)

It is hard to say what else you could do without seeing what is going on, but the only thing I would add to the advice is to be patient. If it helps a little, it is helping. As long as you keep making progress... no matter how small... you are doing well.

I know I'm very new here, but I've also recently lost a close family member. So, big hugs to you.

I'm sorry you also have so much to deal with. Just remember to grieve.

Congrats!

I've also heard that Cavaletti poles help with hind-end awareness. It is a technique borrowed from the equines. I have yet to try it. I was going to work with a wobble board and the poles, but my new addition has made other plans. :?

Can't wait until your first Q!

First, let me say... cute dogs. :) It may be possible for a holistic vet to treat long distance. Not probable, but possible. If they can get a full copy of what your vet has on his records, they may treat this way. The acupuncturist I went to was 3 hours away. I had to see him for the first treatmen...

All things being equal I would agree. The problem comes when older dogs may be suffering from arthritis pain or other medical issue which make it difficult for them to get the message across. What I meant by intervention was waiting until the older dog clearly expresses a desire to be left alone, t...

I had a dog with a bad back (she also had other problems due to an illness in her puppy-hood). I used acupuncture with good success. If you are in the states and want to try it a list can be found here... http://www.aava.org/php/aava_blog/aava-directory/ Also, have you had x-rays to make sure it isn...

My solution is like ckranz... I have a room at the top of the stairs the pup is not allowed to go into. The older two can retreat there without the pup disturbing them. I do have to put up a gate to prevent him from going up when I am not watching, but I have also been consistent in not letting him ...

:P brat. Who? Me? :D nah but really, I'm glad you've got a handle on things. I've heard buffalo is brilliant as it's so lean. Venison has been a standby my whole life, I come from a hunting family, nothing holds over a hound like an elk knee.... we've also fed bear... (mmm nothing says fall l...

your dog will not starve itself. cut the sugary foods out completely, you don't have to fast her if you're against it, but by "weaning" her into good food you're not making any real progress. If she doesn't eat the first day, she will the second, let her come to it on her own terms... Don...

My dogs are mostly fed on wild meat, but then I do not have the problems with them that you have with your new dog, so I don't know if this information is helpful or not. Thanks for the answer. It looks like it is certainly worth a try! I'm "game" for any other suggestions in case this on...

I do understand that those things reduce appetite. That is why I listed them as reasons. I don't like the way her hips move so I want to wait a bit before I exercise her in any real way. I want the vet to check that out first so I'm not doing more damage. I usually give the food they are used to in ...
