Re: Help me please
Dogs don't like being picked up. It makes them fearful and anxious. The same with taking things away. The fact you can do this does not in any way mean you should. However, people with an extremely trusting relationship with their dogs are more likely to get away with this than others. Growing is co...

Re: Grains?
I don't fully agree with the Paleolithic diet. People were eating grain, and depending on grain for survival, since Old Testament times. Just looking at what you've written, it appears to me that you could do with just a bit more fiber. Sweet potatoes are an excellent source of fiber, but they are a...

Re: Authority
No, it is NOT dominance. Yes, it IS separation anxiety. The reason she doesn't act out at your mother's is because she is not alone. Your mother is a familiar person and that makes her feel safe, even if you're not there. At your flat, she's all alone, and feels out of sorts and not safe. Now tell u...

Re: Natural way to prevent worms?
There are herbs out there that can help evacuate worms. They don't actually kill the worms, but make the host a less desirable place to dine. The worms merely exit the body, often still alive in the stool, preferring to dine elsewhere.

In regards to two different types of whistles, I use a whistle because I can't whistle with my teeth. However, Mr. Fundog can and does, and The girls know the difference between Mommy's whistle and Daddy's, and there has never been an issue.

Re: Milk?
Raw milk, with raw cream.... Ah, that brings back memories. I used to scoop some of the cream off the top for my oatmeal. I had to be sneaky because Mom wanted us to shake it into the milk so we would have full fat milk. Can't say as I blame her!

Re: Vent!
Erica, I wonder.... what is the feasibility of moving the old sofa into the room that is storing your stuff, so you can move your stuff into your room? Granted, you would need a temporary holding spot while you shuffle things around, but it would only be for a couple of hours. Is your sister staying...

Well I can't really advise since you have different brands than we have in U.S. But I am really glad you finally have an answer, and a solution, even though it isn't what you wanted.

Re: Scared Cocker Spaniel
Besides everything scarlet asked for, nine months old is also a typical time for the second fear stage in dogs. It's a lot like the stranger awareness phase in infants. How well the puppy passes through this phase depends a lot on how the humans handle it. Much as with small children, if we put on a...

Re: Body language meaning
My dog doesn't generally wag his tail on walks - he does if he meets someone he knows or likes, or occasionally as a communication to me (sort of a 'please' or a 'thank you' I think), but not otherwise. I've noticed some breeds do tend to wag a lot more - gundogs, now I come to think about it. Lol,...
