A found lurcher
Hi everyone Just got back from camping with Po to find a new arrival in the garden. Some of our neighbours found a stray lurcher, they have called the police who told them to call the RSPCA which they have done, I have emailed lurcher link and spoke to all our lurcher friends.Tomorrow we will call t...

Re: A walk with just Po
Wow, thank you so much for your comments, I only post pics in the hope that you guys will like my dogs, they are such a big part of my life, I enjoy sharing them with people. I've got a lot of photos and I don't really know what to do with them but a few people do like them and it seems a shame to l...

Re: What do you positive trainers do with *real* aggression?
When a dog is truly in the "red zone" a phrase coined by other trainers and my understanding of it is when a dog is in a highly adrenalised state to the extent where it blocks out all external distractions and just focussing on what it is about to kill, chase or attack, no amount of verbal...

A walk with just Po
I have just got a new camera. Poor Po has been photographed over and over again, such a wierdo hound, he loves it really. Here are some ones of just him. http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h274/commelina/dogs/DSC_0001.jpg http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h274/commelina/dogs/DSC_0095-1.jpg http://i66...

Re: Another heartwarming video
Thats what happened when Po got his leg caught, but he wasn't on the ground just dangling and screaming.
Good advice from Nettle, he mangled my hand when i rescued him,, didn't have any cutters so had to pick him up and thats when he got me.
Always good to see a happy ending

Re: Cavalier King Charles
I'm currently house sitting 4 CKCs! They are the most easy going dogs I have spent time with. They hardly bark, they don't mind Po popping round, they don't pull on the lead- just so easy to do. Although one has a nervous problem, one is blind and deaf and 2 are diabetic. No wonder they are so well ...

sorry hit the wrong button There is sorrow enoughin the natural way From men and women to fill our day; And when we are certain of sorrow in store, Why do we always arrange for more? Brothers and sisters, I bid you beware Of giving your heart to a dog to tear Buy a pup and your money will buy Love u...

The words Mr Kipling
Like all of you on here, i feel really sad for the loss of Emmabeths Abby and reading back the the forums, quite a few of you have lost dear friends relatively recently, I'm never too sure what to say, but then reading through a book- "The doglovers treasury" i stumbled upon this poem by R...

Re: the shame of it.
Im laughing at the cocker spaniel story- thats awful :D :D What is it with dogs and lady things??? I could never imagine a dog, not even a lab, although they might, proudy carrying a pair of sweaty grey Y fronts around complete with offensive marks etc. or even if they were lucky a pair of neat Calv...

I'm glad you guys are laughing. I think i'll eventually stop blushing, would have been worse if it had been an old greying sports bra or some other unmentionable female accessory. Wouldn't have been so bad if he was a fit fanciable type, would be thanking Po for the icebreaker!! ~Think his cup...

the shame of it.
This morning Po is on top form, he has already stolen the cats food, made me spill my breakfast and displayed my underwear to the neighbours  There is a guy who lives along our street who has 2 lurchers and a deerhound. Our dogs get along with his dogs and the two gangs often chill in the gard...

Re: Westie puppy 9 weeks / playing=biting
Hi. I think the method shown on the video is pretty unpleasant and unlikely to work long term. I'm sure you'll get some good advice on here. Puppies normally go through a 'vampire' stage, where they mouth and those evil needle teeth do really hurt, its natural and normal and will get better. What I ...
