Re: Advice for odd behavior
Well first thing to do is recognize what precedes the behavior. So you say playing ball after 15-20 mts she starts chomping. I am a little unclear does she chomp the air or the ball or what? Anyway you have to prevent the escalation to this level. If she gets really worked up at the 15 mt mark then ...

Re: Plump Pup & Homemade Food?
meat by products & corn have are very poor quality ingredients in a dog food & any brand that doesn't identify its meat source (is it chicken, turkey, moose? raccoon?) what does meat by- products mean? It means feet, eyes, feathers, talons & other disgusting parts which are all parts a d...

Re: Murphy has been vomiting :-(
Yes Noobs Mylanta can be given to dogs. Vet told me to give to him to coat his insides before he eats (he had inflamed gut) Mind you now MAx hated it. I used a dropper with plunger that vet gave me (vet drew a line on how much to give) & squirted a little at a time thru sides of his gum toward b...

Re: Murphy has been vomiting :-(
Max ries to eat hair when I give hubby or son a haircut--crazy boy! i have to put him out so he doesn't ingest any. Hopefully that will be that for Murph. Dogs eat grass when their tummies are upset. Max was sick 2 wks ago--vomiting & bloody poop. It happened once before so I didn't panic. I jus...

Re: Me again... What's next?
When you say she is lying down is it on her side or are paws/legs under her (as lying in wait) like she is going to pounce/ambush if dog comes closer? Max will assume an ambush position when a new dog comes in the park. All he really does tho (when they get close)is run up to them to sniff/chk them ...

Re: Am I encouraging the behaviour I want to stop
Teach him more things to do. When Max is 'in a mood" I have him do at least 3 things: shake, beg, down, play dead, crawl, roll over, dance, find it (which hand) always mix it up-- helps with distraction.

Hey girl: great to hear from you. Those boys are grown & beautiful. I remember the pic when Gunner had keys in his mouth lol.. Great job on helping the puppy. I know it was so hard not to keep him. Now that they're past 1 yr old the weight will continue to come on. Then you will have to be so ve...

Re: My Dog is Highy protective!
Congrats on the progress! You are apparently still over feeding him. Replace 1/2 his dog food with green beans or other low cal vegetables (carrots, etc) And although you think he is getting a lot of exercise, you still have to up it a bit more. With warmer wether coming now it should be easier to d...

Very creative! Now I must warn you that particle board gate will not hold up thru repeated rain/snow. Maybe a good exterior paint might give some protection, but don't expect miracles. Again Great job!!

Re: Should I pull my puppy when he won't walk?
He is gorgeous--reminds me of my dog when he was a wee pup! If you want you could start teaching him to target a stick. Make it fun with a red pom pom on the end. show him stick, say "touch" when he touches with nose reward & praise. repeat several times. slowly start giving distance to...
