Catching dog urine!

How?? Tomorrow Pan has to go to the vets as he's been losing weight for no known reason and they want a urine sample. I've been given the general idea... Use a bowl, put it under the stream etc. but I know my dog - if I'm wanting him to pee and waiting for him to, he won't. If I lean in with a bowl ...

Re: I've messed up Pan's raw feeding

Thank you so much for such helpful and thoughtful replies. I'm glad I'm not doing as badly as I thought I was. You've both given me some good ideas to be getting on with too. Today I picked up rabbit and chicken mince, white fish mince and a pound of liver. He's also got eggs, bananas and apples and...

I've messed up Pan's raw feeding

Hi, I haven't posted here in a while, but I'm having serious problems right now and my dog is suffering for it. To start with, important information - I am homeless at the moment and living in a hostel. I have been since September. I have a little kitchen with a fridge and a tiny freezer drawer, but...

Fear of training? Really need advice regarding Pan

Hi, long time no speak! Pan is as gorgeous as ever but we are having a few issues right now. Information about him: He's roughly 5 years old now (guesswork as he's a rescue with no background information other than being a very malnourished stray) and I've had him for about 3 and a half years I beli...

Re: Uhm.. Precious peed on a dog!?

My dog has done this twice before. Not a long pee (also, he'd been out for ages so had had plenty of 'going' time), just a mark. Then they started bouncing around and playing again. Not sure why he did it but it was somewhat embarrassing!

Re: Raw Food Diet

I just bought raw meat in bulk for the first time. EXCITED! Hoping I can fit it all in the freezer now. :D

Free running - time or distance more important?

Hey, so, I was wondering... if a dog is off lead having a good walk or run, which of these two is more important? My powerchair goes really fast, so we can take 20 minutes to go somewhere that it might take someone else an hour to walk. So far I've been timing his walks roughly to make sure he get 2...

Re: I think someone has swapped my border collies

I think I'm still paranoid that I'm doing it all wrong! We play roughly 3 times per day, even if it's only for 2 minutes at a time, and do at least one training session. He also gets between 90mins and 2hrs of walks per day. Sometimes if I'm poorly he has to wait quite a long time for the day to sta...

Re: I think someone has swapped my border collies

I feel guilty with my border collie - if I'm too unwell to play or he has to wait ages to walk, he doesn't turn into a nagging nightmare, he literally curls up and sleeps. This is wonderful when I'm ill but I feel guilty... I feel like he should be giving me grief or something! As soon as I initiate...

Re: Raw Food Diet

*excited* So, Pan has been on a raw food diet for a few days now. His breath no longer stinks, his coat is smooth and shiny and his poos are tiny and firm! Right now he's on chicken wings and chicken thighs, but we'll be branching out soon. He's often had raw meat/bones as treats, so they're not ent...

Having been rubbish with training, dog now doesn't respond?

Hello lovely people, I've been really rubbish with Pan recently, and haven't kept up with training. We used to have several mini clicker training sessions per day but in the last few months I've really failed in regards to taking care of Pan's mental exercise needs, which I feel really bad about. He...
