Re: How long with diarrhea before go to vet?
I used to be a K9 handler, our dog of choice was a German Shepherd. I have also owned a GSD and a Belgian Malinois personally. These types of dogs are prone to this problem so I have a lot of experience with it. Typically every vet I have ever worked with has told me upon severe diarrhea, to rest th...

If you're really just trying to soothe her throat, you could offer her a popsicle, or make your own if you're worried about the artificial stuff in store-bought sweets.

Re: Dog with Navy Seals at Bin Laden's compound
Actually they typically are trained to be fast-roped out of a chopper with their trusted handler first.
Take it from someone who used to fast rope doing SAR.

Re: Dog first aid: emergency dog care and first aid
The Red Cross offers a pet first aid course which I highly recommend, at least that's where I took mine a few years back. Learning CPR for a dog is invaluable I think.

Re: German Shepherds!
I just wanted to comment that you GSD owners have some truly beautiful dogs. I have owned a GSD before, now I have a Belgian Malinois who is usually confused by the general public as a GSD. I love the temperament and especially the drive and intelligence of these dogs. Keep posting pics of your shep...

Re: Impromptu Agility Course Ideas?
Since last posting in this thread, I have added a lot of skills to the list that my Malinois can complete. I am working hard to build focus and he can now watch me (my face/ look directly in my eyes) and wait for commands. I am interjecting a lot of basic obedience commands during the little agility...

Re: The Furminator?
I have the new Furminator and I'm seriously impressed. I have tried all sorts of methods and products over the years. This time around I really needed help, I have a Belgian Malinois who sheds like it's his day job. Beautiful coat, didn't want to "strip" it so to speak. I was hesitant at b...

Re: Ugh im so bummed about this episode
I liked the episode, not my favorite, but it did give me the idea to begin scent work with my Malinois. He is simply too smart, and a mind is a beautiful thing to waste. Thank you Victoria, I am going to explore scenting with him and see where it takes us.
