barking at the window
My dog constantly will bark at the window. We have a huge picture window and it goes low to the floor. He is obsessed with it, he will do nothing all day but run and bark at nothing. I saw an episode where she removed the dogs that were barking. So everyone time he barks, I pick him up and place him...

strange behavior
I have a sheltie that is a rescue (4years old neutered male). He has all sorts of issues, but he has this behavior I am not sure what he is doing. He actually doesn't do it a lot,(about once every few months) and he usually does it when I am taking him out to go to the bathroom. As I stand there wai...

Re: Presa Canario Episode
I just watched it and I am confused about the boy wanting to breed the dog. He kept saying he thought it would be fun to play with the puppies and then find them good homes. He also stated he wouldn't breed the dog unless he knew people that wanted them. What I am confused is that the dog he had was...

Re: OCD in dog
He is a sheltie, and is 4 years old. I got him about 15 months ago, from a rescue where he they got him from the dog pound. I know nothing of his background. He has always barked at them in the sky, but now over the past few months he is going crazy. He also does the same thing for the moon when we ...

OCD in dog
I have a dog that I feel has OCD. He wants to kill contrails in the sky..literally. It is so hard for him to even be in the house as he can see them out the window. On walks it is almost impossible as we have a lot of them on sunny days. He can be lying in the house being good and suddenly in a star...

Re: Hates the clock
the clock will work, but I can't find anywhere to get rid of the chime. I actually don't think it is the chime, as I have been thinking, as much as the click right before. He actually stops during the chimming but the click it makes. He also does the exact thing when we turn on the TV, and it is the...

Re: Hates the clock
I feel bad getting rid of the clock as it was an expensive wooden clock, similar to a grandfather clock just smaller. It was a gift from my parents to us. Any other clock would easily be got rid of. I probably will shut it off, as it doesn't seem to have a silencer on it. He probably is afraid of it...

Hates the clock
I have a 4 year old sheltie that I have had for 14 mos. We have a chimming clock and he absolutely hates it. For most of the year, I haven't ran the clock, as it chimes every 15 minutes. But this past week I have been once again trying to desensitice him to it. I will spend 15 or 20 minutes at a tim...

food aggression
I have a almost 3 year old sheltie who in the last month suddenly has become very food aggressive. I have 2 other shelties and have always fed them seperately in their own bowls without any problemsin the same room. Suddenly he started lashing out and will actually go and attack another dog eating e...

I am getting very frustrated!!!
I have a 2 almost 3 year old male neutered sheltie, that was a puppymill rescue, whom I got from the rescue at 9 weeks old. Everyday it is the same thing, I let him out of his crate and he runs to the window. We have a picture window in the livingroom and our house is very small, and he will jump up...

Re: thundershirt
I have been wondering about a thundershirt too for my dogs. I saw some swim shirts for dogs on sale at Petsmart, they look like they would fit snug. So from the posts of people making their own, this shirt probably would work very good, right? It is a nylon like shirt.

Re: Agreesive rescued sheltie
Thank you for the ideas I will try them. I am also teaching him "watch me" with treats that he does respond fairly well with. The only thing is he wants them so he will keep barking at me trying to have me give them to him. In the house I turn my back, but when I start walking again with h...
