I am by no means an expert - I'm just a dog owner who fumbles her own way along, learning new things every day about being a doggy parent! I get up to pee throughout the night once or twice every night. If my dogs need to go, then I let them out every time I get up throughout the night. My youngest ...

I agree with afore mentioned advice - I would most certainly be getting another vet's opinion! Just because someone is qualified as a vet, doesn't mean they are always right. In this case they may well be, but it won't hurt to double check - for the life of your dog, and your own peace of mind! I kn...

just to jump in on this thread, Em could you give step by step instructions on teaching the self control with ball throwing? My dogs LOVE ball, they adore playing ball - they have their own ball each and don't chase each others ball (this is excellent at the off lead park, as they don't steal other ...

hey Em, with your veges - do you blend them all up raw? I haven't tried blending a bunch of veges like that, but I will give it a shot this week if that's what you do. My dogs just don't like veges, unless it's straight off my plate when I'm done! Actually, they like sweet potato, and occasionally v...

don't quote me, but I have heard that if a dog does consume human chocolate, it needs to vomit , and then consume activated charcoal, which soaks up the toxin. My dog is only 5.8kg, so a small amount of chocolate would be quite toxic - so if she ate 1 lindt ball, I would take her to the vet straight...

Re: back to square one
hi Maria AH AH firmly , pick him up mid pee (he will stop) lauren LOL - had to have a bit of a laugh at this. Pups won't stop mid wee as a general rule - at least they never have in this house.  Fantastic advice from Ems there :) I'm pretty sure that was a quote directly from Victoria's ...

I'm sure Em or Josie will have a long in depth reply for you, but a couple of things I have comments on. My pup is 1 year 3 months now, and just the other day I got home, took her out straight away to toilet, and she pooped twice, then came running inside, and promptly peed on the floor 5 minutes la...

my pup always hated the car, and would vomit every trip - even just around the block. After she was spayed at the vet, she was petrified of the car - she wouldn't get in on her own, and once she was in, she would sit there and shake and shake and shake, then vomit. I read about dogs and car sickness...

use the toys that she has in an effective manner - not just playing with her, or leaving there for her to entertain herself with, but when she does nip, or attempt to nip, give her a toy instead - to hopefully teach her that she's NOT allowed to bite you, but she IS allowed to bite the toy instead. ...
