The Whispering Gentleman silenced?

I am seeing articles referring to the cancellation of a certain dog-focused "whispering" show on the National Geographic Wild channel. I am not seeing an official announcement, although it was supposed to have been made 3 days ago. Anyone hear anything official? I'd like to know before I b...

Duets are tough when your partner continually upstages you :(

Re: I found out what the horrible smell was

To quote a song from Buffy the Vampire Slayer "Life is a song you can't rehearse, and every single verse, just makes it that much worse." There are definitely days when I agree. I had a lovely tack box once. It started out as an Army footlocker back in the 40s, but I ended up with it and i...

With a happy lab hitting the end of that leash, I'm betting she wouldn't have to pretend very much!

Re: The Funnies Thread...

It's not a dog, but it is the latest thing in agility. I'd love to try this, but I can't manage setting up even
a regular agility course at home.

Wow. Sounds like not only the the Powers That Be bring you a wonderful dog (potentially), but
send this poor dog wonderful owners. I love to hear about situations working out that way :)

Re: Has dog equipment taken over your life

To fill up the house I do get 21 empty tins of dog food each and every week. Something is wrong in the world when 2 dogs create more waste than I do. I wish you could buy dog food sausages with edible skins and no metal. You can in the US. Several different brands, though the only one that comes to...

Re: Has dog equipment taken over your life

I'm not listing anything. I haven't the time right now. But between dogs, cats, and birds, and their bits and bobs, my friends insist I live in an animal habitat with a bedroom and office attached. Honestly, I think they are overreacting. Just because they cannot see that a 500 Vari-Kennel makes a p...

Re: meet Spencer

And the right dog came and presented itself to you with no strings, no weird people, no taking dog away again. Isn't it wonderful how that happens? He's handsome, appears to have quite the personality, and does not seem to be wanting in the confidence or self-esteem department. I'm glad you have a f...

Re: Dogs & horses

We're getting there. Odin's still "Scarey thing! Scarey thing! Scarey thing!" but, there's the occassional curiousity in there too... I took an apple for the horse today, and I think that helped with Odin believe it or not. If I'm giving the scarey thing some food, I'm hoping Odin wonders...

Re: Failed the home check

I am still fuming for you, and for Luisa - you are SUCH a good home, homes like you do NOT grow on frigging trees and any rescue OUGHT to be falling over themselves trying to rehome to you! I don't suppose I can tempt you to a Deerhound - I happen to know of a LOVELY Deerhound breeder (well two, th...

That is too funny, and so cleanly done. I did love the poor bewildered AT-AT that walked through at the end.

Re: Failed the home check

Sarah, this is just beyond words. I'm reeling, and just so upset for you and Luisa! That poor little girl who probably thought life had turned around for her with loving people and comfy beds, and now it's back to jail. She can't understand that. Oh, it's so sad for everybody. DId they suddenly deci...

I can't see her going back unless we fail the home check though  Just make sure the socks are put away for inspection day  I'm so glad it's going smoothly. She sounds like a delightful dog, and a Nanny dog to boot. I bet she is going to have quite the sense of humor once she has been wit...

Re: Started the adoption process

Oh, that's wonderful! I'm sure it will go smoothly -- who couldn't love you as adopters! I understand your mixed emotions there, but as Suzanne said, nothing provides a better distraction for your missing your dear Rupert as much as a new creature in the house. Not that it will lessen your thoughts ...
