Personally, I have always been a big supporter of getting a dog from a rescue facility like the Humane Society or the SPCA. Every dog I've ever owned has come from one of those facilities. In my opinion, they are the best dogs because one, you have saved them from that place and two, I've always tho...

He's beautiful! I love that face! Abby has one of those faces as well, unfortunately for us....haha. I can never get my photos to turn out that well either. Granted, our camera is not the best. Awww...I just love looking at those pictures! I want to play with him! Haha.

Well, the shoes were in the closet up on a shoe rack with the door shut. Granted, the door is a sliding door. Secondly, I know about the second chewing phase in a dog but she does have plenty of toys (and even the cat that she likes to chew on occasionally, haha). I'm just curious why this behavior ...

2 1/2 years ago, my mother's cat that she got from the SPCA had a litter of kittens. (She had no idea that the cat she adopted was pregnant!) There were four kittens, and my parents being incredibly nerdy named them Yoda, Luke, Leia, and Chewy. Yoda, funnily enough, was the only female. They were na...

New Chewing Behavior

I've read a few of the chewing threads on the site already but I'm afraid I'm still at a loss. Abby is almost 9 months old and recently (by recently I mean a few days ago) she's taken to chewing shoes. I know this is quite common so let me explain. Abby goes for two walks a day, about an hour long s...

This is Abby. She's almost 9 months old. We got her from the Humane Society about 6 months ago. They told us that she was 3/4 Rottie (her mother was pure bred apparently) and that her tail was docked when she was a baby because the owner tried to sell her and her siblings as pure bred. People didn't...

We have a cat and a ferret besides our dog Abby. All three pets get along great and have free reign of the apartment. Luke: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v308/bellezzaloves/Luke2.jpg Izzy: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v308/bellezzaloves/Izzy1.jpg And Izzy has a wonderful little catch phrase...

I'm still a little new to Dog Parks in general. I'm finally living in an area where Dog Parks are common and close enough to drive to. I've noticed a lot of what everyone has been saying. There's a regular there who brings both of her dogs to the park and as soon as the dogs move more than a foot aw...
