Sorry for not answering earlier!
JudyN, it IS unreasonable, but it fortunately isn't a habit of them. I do hope, though, that they won't ask me for more surhuman feats like that now that they know I can fulfill such a mission... And no, I was translating most of these into French.

Re: Corns
Damn, your dog is way too smart for his own good do you think it would be possible to apply something like a band-aid over the corn? It would be smaller and less restrictive than a sock, but the main issue is to know how long this will hold...

Re: What are you and your dogs up to today? Part 2
I've sadly been disregarding the dogs today, and had my wife take care of them; I'm taking a 30-minute break because I've been asked at my job to handle a ridiculously high amount of work until tomorrow morning, and by "ridiculous amount", I mean having to translate twenty articles of this...

Re: New puppy biting
Yeah, some dogs might mistake yelping for the little high pitched barks puppies do when playing with each other... so it encourages them to keep "playing", which isn't exactly what we're searching for! They're doing it for fun, so the "cold shoulder" and "timeout" metho...

Re: It's quiet in here !
I think that the system you have here works quite well; on some other forums, I've seen longer and harder acceptance systems (confirmation by the administrator + manual confirmation by a moderator of the first 5 posts), and this is very efficient to curb spam as fake profile messages are quite recog...

Re: Hello from Belgium
Thanks for your welcome, it IS a pleasure to live with them, my wife, our children and I all love them.
The Scottish shepherd is a slightly different breed, it's the ones who look like they have a lion's mane around the head, while rough and border collies have a less extravagant "haircut".

Re: New puppy biting
Thanks for the input, JudyN! I've ran into the same issue with our Scottish Shepherd puppy, who does like playing tug of war with pants and sleeves, often biting the skin underneath in the process! I'll try the "short timeouts" method. I feel sort of stupid now, as I had tried it successfu...

I can confirm about the time needed to have the account confirm, but well, if the admins are busy, I can't criticise them. But yes, it's a shame that facebook is eating up usual forum content; my main gripe is that a Facebook group has little to no useful info at all, 90% of the posts are the same b...

Re: Dental cleaning/exam
Yeah, I'm suspicious about the enthusiasm of the first vet; he sounds way too eager to bring out the heavy artillery in my eyes  maybe you could try again brushing your dog's teeth, just to see first? Otherwise, if he doesn't let anyone touch his teeth, it would definitely be better to wait...

Re: Another option for raw feeders on the fourm
It's true that not everyone likes liver ; my Basset Fauve de Bretagne never enjoyed it, while the young puppy I've adopted sometimes steals it from the cats' plates... With some issues if she gets spotted, as she's still smaller than our Maine Coon  I don't raw feed my dogs all the time, but I ...

Hello from Belgium
Hello everyone! I'm Olivier, 42, from Belgium, although I live in Russia now (and I'm about to move... but that's a completely different thing already) I've joined this forum to discuss dog behaviour and other issues, since I recently adopted a young Scottish Shepherd puppy named Strela, to keep com...
